Dale of Norway Dronning Maud GORE Windstopper Sweater (Stone)

The Dronning Maud is made for active sport and leisure wear. The sweater is lined with Dale Polarwind windproof yet highly breathable lining, and is also treated with Teflon making the sweater water and snow repellent. It's a high-necked sweater with zipper, drawstring, canvas reinforcement on the elbows and forearms, double pockets on the right side and with a hanger for lift-pass. Dronning Maud is a comfortable mix of 58% cotton and 29% Polyamid, and 13% Polyurethane which is combined with water resistance that is highly breathable. An expedition to the South Pole and the Queen Mauds Land is what got Dale making such an action prone sweater, ice and snow being the base in the design. Since no snowflakes are identicle, there are two different versions. The Pole point is symbolized with a circle with a cross, whereas the lines above the main pattern represent the snow. The skis symbolize the expedition on their way to the Pole point, and you can see the ice-taps of the shoulders and sleeve.The Dale Sport collection are not only for active sports but leisure wear as well. The mix will be of pure Norwegian wool, New Zealand and Australian all-year wool, and Australian Merino wool. Norwegian wool has longer and more coarse fibers for durability. Merino wool has thinner and soft fibers for comfort in wear, while the all-year wool has medium length and medium thickness fibers that enhances outward breathability of the garment. Dale of Norway Eidsvoll Zip Sweater (Ice Blue)

The Norwegian constitution was enacted on Eidsvoll the 17th of May 1814 after being in union with Denmark for 400 long years. But the Norwegian king had to surrender the throne to Sweden on the 10th of October 1814, with just a few months of freedom. During the union with Denmark, Norway had to use the Danish flag, and in 1818 the Swedish king decided that Norway should use the Swedish flag, only with a white cross on red background in the upper left corner.The Norwegians didn't give up so easily, and they fought for their own flag. In 1821 Fredrik Meltzer designed the flag that is still known as the Norwegian flag. Mix of the Danish and Swedish flag, Norway formed their very own symbol. But the Swedish king denied to approve the flag unless it had the Swedish flag as a union symbol in the upper left corner. This decision faced major resistance and in 1898 the Norwegians finally were allowed to use the flag without the union symbol. When the union between Norway and Sweden ended in 1905 the flag was officially accepted as The Norwegian Flag.Eidsvoll is based on the colors in the Norwegian flag. On the chest there is a Norwegian flag waving in the wind, the way the Norwegians like to see it. Eidsvoll is also equipped with a ski zip holder in the pocket.
