Description: In 1947 K Adlard Coles founded his own publishing company. He himself wrote many books, including pilots, narratives and the classic, world-famous Heavy Weather Sailing. Today, Adlard Coles Nautical is an imprint of A & C Black Publishers, who bought both Nautical Books and Adlard and merged the two in 1990. Over twenty books a year are produced by a team of three, headed by Janet Murphy, director of Adlard Coles Nautical and editor since 1986. Its future looks assured with plenty of new authors, and more importantly, the support of enthusiastic readers and sailors. With over 200 books in print, Adlard Coles Nautical continues to provide sailors with practical, informative and up-to-date books.
