Description: The Algoa Bay Yacht Club is situated in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Port Elizabeth, which forms part of the Nelson Mandela Metropole, is recognised as the watersport capital of South Africa. Algoa Bay has been host to many international, national and regional sailing regattas. e.g. Dart and Hobie Worlds, Optimist Continental Championships, Laser, Stadt 23, J22 and Mirror Nationals. The Algoa Bay Yacht Club is home to the annual Nelson Mandela Bay Isuzu Week Regatta. The Algoa Bay Yacht Club also runs a strong and successful Community Sailing School program teaching previously disadvantaged children to sail. This sailing school forms part of the Algoa Bay Yacht clubs' social responsibility program.
