Five Fields Farm Five Fields Farm
Submitted: 12/02/07 (Edited 12/02/07)
Description: Five Fields Farm is a 70 acre working apple orchard located in the hills of South Bridgton, Maine. Surrounded by woodlots and abutting a 450 acre land preserve owned by The Loon Echo Land Trust, we have the distinction of being the highest farmland in Cumberland County. The hillside location required to grow good apples gives us views customers comment on, and our elevation puts us on the right side of the snow belt line. Farming teaches one early there are no guarantees with mother nature, but if it snows in the foothills of the White Mountains we probably have to shovel it. We offer, winter recreation, parking, warming hut, groomed and backcountry trails, shoeshoe trails, shoeshoe hiking, cross country skiing, Nordic skiing, cross country skis, poles and booth rentals and of course, apples. Located 20 minutes from Shawnee Peak Ski Area and great views from a starting elevation of 850'. A wonderful place to experience Maine - The Way Life Should Be!
