Description: A very welcome initiative has been taken by The World Meteorological Organisation through the WMO/IMO Joint Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology. The JCOMM/GMDSS weather information website provides texts of forecasts broadcasts via Inmarsat-C SafetyNET and produced by National Meteorological Services appointed as Issuing Services within the framework of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System. This simple, no frills, very easy to use website will be particularly welcomed by many crews of non-SOLAS vessels, particularly by small leisure craft.
