Description: The New Zealand Snow Safety Institute located at Temple Basin Ski Area offers a series of alpine courses throughout the year on aspects of mountaineering, climbing, avalanche safety, backcountry ski and snowboarding. The courses are designed for those involved with skiing, snowboarding, climbing and mountaineering and want to improve their understanding of the mountain environment so as to be safer within it. Other courses cater for experienced skiers and snowboarders wanting to train as ski patrollers.
