'Een kind kan de was doen', aldus wedstrijdleider Teake van der Meulen van de wedstrijdcommissie Woudsend na zijn uitleg van de route op het Heegermeer. Er staan voor vandaag twee routes gepland. In beide gevallen betreft het een zandloper en aan de vlag op het startschip is te zien welke. Dit alles heeft met het weer en vooral de wind te maken. |

Now we finally dit it!" Also Sven de Laaf was very pleased: "Fantastic. But if it had been 20 more minutes I would have died." |

Het zit erop. Door windgebrek is de laatste race halverwege afgeblazen en kunnen wij ons opmaken voor een weekje rust. Rust die ik hard nodig heb, want deze eerste serie soloraces heeft een aanslag gepleegd op mijn lichaam en geest. En met solo bedoel ik dan ook echt solo. Waar de andere zeilers in hotels sliepen en een crew de schepen in orde brachten sliep ik op m'n boot en moest deze zelf ook weer klaar maken voor de volgende race. |

Shortly after the last Dutch Classic Yacht Regatta (DCYR) in July 2001 preparations for the 2003 event have started. The organizing committee has been strengthened with several new members. We are confident the next DCYR will be just as succesfull as the last. The Dutch Classic Yact Regatta (DCYR) is a bi-annual event for classic yachts at Hellevoetsluis, the old town at the waters of the Haringvliet in the Netherlands. The core of the event comprises the three day regatta for various classes of classic sailing yachts. |
