Es begann mit Dixie und Swing - wie im Jazz. Allerdings nicht in New Orleans, sondern 1983 auf Elba. Mit "Dixie" und "Swing" starteten Hubert (Banjo, Chiemsee) und Jochen (Kornett, Starnberger See) die "swingende Sun Charter Flotte". Unser erster Stützpunktleiter und damit Dritter im Bunde war Flori Frere (Klarinette, jetzt Sun Charter Türkei). Flori, Hubert und Jochen sind die Väter der Sun Charter-Philosophie, die da lautet: Wir verchartern unsere für uns selbst im Hinblick auf Sicherheit, sportliches und zugleich bequemes Segeln bestens ausgestatteten und gewarteten Segelyachten.
